This facility is currently under a Boil Water Notice

Underlying Problems: Unsatisfactory water sample result received, 15 total coliforms, 0 E. coli. Operator received a complaint from a water user that there was too much chlorine in the water. According to operator, the dose for chlorine was lowered from 3.0 to 2.5 in response to this complaint. Water system is supplied by a shallow, dug well that is at-risk of containing pathogens (GARP) and under direct influence of surface water (GUDI). Current treatment on the system is slow sand filtration and chlorination. As indicated in previous inspection reports, two forms of treatment is required to meet the treatment objective of a 3-log reduction for protozoan cysts (Giardia and Cryptosporidium). A construction permit was required to be submitted in October 2017.
Steps Taken to Remedy: Operator issued a Boil Water Notice on the water system. Users have been informed of the Boil Water Notice and signs have been posted throughout the RV park.
Corrective Actions Remaining: Operator to adjust the chlorine dose to ensure a free available chlorine residual of at least 0.5 ppm is maintained in the water leaving the storage reservoir. This is listed as an operating permit condition. Two bacteriological water samples, with satisfactory results (0 total coliforms and 0 E. coli), must be received prior to rescinding the Boil Water Notice. Samples must be collected at least 24 hours apart. Submit a Construction Permit Application as required in 2017.
