Report of Findings
On July 16, 2019, Licensing received a concern regarding care and supervision, physical facility, and records and reporting. The following details were provided:
- Staff did not provide adequate care and supervision to children, resulting in an injury
- Insufficient resilient surfacing in playground
- A reportable incident was not reported to Licensing
- A parent or emergency contact was not immediately notified when a child became injured while in care
All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was obtained through interviews, review of facility records, and observations.
Licensing determined the following contraventions:
- Child Care Licensing Regulation section 55(1)(a) and 55(2)(a) Notification of illness or injury.

Observation: A parent or emergency contact was not immediately notified when the child became injured while in care.

19030 - CCLR s.55(2)(a)A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.
Observation: Licensing was not notified of a reportable incident within the required 24 hours.
