Report of Findings
On August 6th, 2019, Licensing received a complaint alleging concerns regarding care and supervision and records and reporting.
The allegations included the following details:
-Lack of supervision
-A reportable incident was not reported to Licensing

All allegations were fully investigated. Evidence was obtained through interviews. Licensing determined a contravention to the CCLR:
-Child Care Licensing Regulation Section 34 (2) (b) Group sizes and employee to children ratios
-CCLR Section 55 (2) (a) Notification of illness or injury
Substantiated Contraventions: Evidence for this summary report is based on a combination of the Licensing Officer’s observations, a review of facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the investigation.

14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b)Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: Licensing determined that a child left the group and was unsupervised.
Corrective action: Please submit a corrective action plan.
19030 - CCLR s.55(2)(a)A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.
Observation: Licensing determined that a reportable incident was not reported in accordance with the Child Care Licensing Regulation.
