Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on May 6, 2022, in regards to physical facility:
The following details were provided:
- A staff member was smoking in the backyard while children are in the area.

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was obtained through interviews and observations.
Licensing determined the following contraventions:
-Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) section 13(3)

11030 - CCLR s.13(3)(a)A licensee must ensure that, on the premise of the community care facility or in any vehicle used by employees to transport children, (a) no one engages in restricted consumption (tobacco/cannabis) while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Staff smokes on premise and around kids when on walks or parks.
Corrective action: Corrective action required.
Actions Required by Licensee/Operator
- The Licensee shared that she has spoken to the staff, and the plan is that staff will not bring her cigarettes to the facility. The staff also now fully understands the regulation of not engaging in restricted consumption while children are under the supervision of employees
