Report of Findings
On March 6, 2020, Licensing received a complaint alleging concerns related to medication, care and supervision, and staffing. The allegations included the following details:

Medication:
- Persons in care (PICs) are receiving large doses of medications to facilitate daily care.

Care and Supervision:
- Staff did not follow the policies and procedures in moving a PIC to another facility.
- Inappropriate referrals are being made to an external agency.

Staffing:
- Staff don't know the PICs care needs.
- Staffing changes have been made on short notice.
- It is challenging to get a hold of staff when phoning the facility.
- There has been transitioning in the facility management.

All areas of the complaint were thoroughly investigated. Evidence was received and reviewed from interviews, person in care records, correspondence with the facility, and inspection.

The following contraventions were determined:
- Residential Care Regulation - Section 85 (1)(d) Policies and procedures.
