Report of Findings
Community Care Facilities Licensing [CCFL] received a complaint on December 15, 2023, regarding Care and Supervision (Behavioural Guidance), Health and Hygiene, Programming and Environment.

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was received and reviewed from interviews and documentation.

Licensing confirmed that the facility’s walls were not maintained in a good state of repair, there were insufficient toys in one classroom, and children were not immediately allowed to leave the napping area when awake.

The following related contraventions of the Child Care Licensing Regulation were cited:
· Section 13 (2), Environment
· Section 51 (1)(a), Behavioural guidance.

Observation: The community care facility had areas of visible soil and chipped walls in the bathroom, the hallway, and the classroom wall, broken and insufficient toys and equipment in one classroom.

14220 - CCLR s.51(1)(a)A licensee must (a) ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance.
Observation: Staff had provided behavioral guidance that was not appropriate to the age and development of the child who was receiving the guidance.
