Report of Findings
Community Care Facilities Licensing received a complaint on December 27, 2023 regarding Care and Supervision and Records and Reporting.

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was gathered and reviewed through an on-site inspection and interviews.

Licensing confirmed that the children engage in more than 30 minutes of screen time per day.
Staff did not instruct children to wash hands prior to snack and the table was not disinfected

Following contraventions to the Child Care Licensing Regulation were determined:
- Section 44(1)(a), Program of Activities.
- Section 46(1), Health and Hygiene.

15030 - CCLR s.46(1)A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation: Staff did not instruct children to wash hands prior to snack and the table was not disinfected.
Corrective action: Ensure that children wash their hands before/after meals and maintain health and hygiene practices throughout the day.
18002 - CCLR s.43(1)A licensee must, in addition to care, provide children with opportunities for social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
Observation: There were no toys or equipment available for children and the room was restricted other than one set of board game pieces.
Corrective action: Ensure there are many opportunities for social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth for the children.
