Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on August 4th 2022, via phone allegeing concerns regarding the following:
Care and Supervision:
-Staff allegedly did not provide appropriate support to a child who required assistance
-Staff allegedly provided no comfort for a child who was upset
-Staff allegedly forced a child to nap
-Staff are allegedly rough to a child when applying sunscreen

Policies and Procedures:
-Concerns brought to the manager were not addressed, and there was no communication response from Licensee.

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was obtatined through interview and records, and video recordings.

Licensing determined the following contraventions.
-Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) Section 56 (1)(d)
-Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) Section 56 (1)(f)
Substantiated Contraventions: Evidence for this summary report is based on a combination of the Licensing Officer’s observations, a review of facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the investigation.
Observed Violations/Contraventions: A summary of the violations found during the complaint investigation are listed below.

13060 - CCLR s.56(1)(d)A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.
Observation: The facility had no employee policy intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of the children during nap time.
Corrective action: Corrective action required.
19050 - CCLR s.56(1)(f)A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
Observation: Review of the non reportable log book revealed there was no record of an unexpected event involving a child, or actions by the employees in response to the event.
Corrective action: Corrective action required.
