| Steps Taken to Remedy: - Environmental Health Officer (EHO) spoke with operator and discussed results and remediation steps.
- As an immediate action, Operator to inform users to boil water before consuming and post Boil Water Notice and signage at all the tap and faucets.
- A food Store is connected to this water system. Coffee bar and washrooms are connected to this water supply. Operator to ensure that the coffee brewer can only operate if water temperatures are maintained at or above 74°C/165°F for at least 15 seconds and verified by a probe thermometer.
- Operator to provide hand sanitizer in the washrooms to be used post hand washing. | |
| Corrective Actions Remaining: - EHO advised operator to investigate the well head and distribution system for any signs of compromise or failure.
- Operator to disinfect (shock-chlorinate) the well and flush the water lines prior to resampling.
- Upon completion of well disinfection operator is required sample for bacteria. The Environmental Health Officer will consider the removal of the notice once 2 bacteriological samples, taken at least 24 hours apart, have been reported, by an accredited lab, as absent for total coliforms and E.coli.
- Operator to submit contruction permit application for approval and BWN to remain in place until treatment system is installed. |
