This facility is currently under a Boil Water Notice

	Underlying Problems: Degradation in water quality indicated by unacceptable microbiological water quality results.
	Steps Taken to Remedy: Contacted operator, Lorraine Merrick, to discuss the unsatisfactory bacteriological sample taken on Oct. 10th, 2023. Also consulted with the Environmental Health Officer’s that had recently inspected the water system.
	Corrective Actions Remaining: Operator needs to determine if ongoing contamination of the cistern or distribution system is occurring and report their findings to Northern Health; a qualified professional may be required to complete this assessment. Cistern must be cleaned, shock chlorinated, and flushed with fresh water. Emergency Response and Contingency Plan (ERCP) must be activated to provide public notice to all appropriate parties of the Boil Water Notice, as well as place signs on all publicly accessible taps; the ERCP must also be updated and approved in consultation with an Environmental Health Officer. At least two satisfactory microbiological water quality samples, taken at least one week after shock chlorinating, as well as at least 24 hours apart, must be provided to Northern Health.
