Report of Findings
Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL) received a complaint on May 23, 2019 alleging concerns related to care & supervision & programming. The following details were provided:
- an employee showed children a video clip containing inappropriate violent content

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was obtained through interviews and observations. CCFL determined the following contraventions to the Child Care Licensing Regulation:
- 44(1)(b) Program of activities
- 56(1)(d) Community care facility record & policies

Corrective action plan to be submitted. CCFL to conduct follow-up inspection to ensure compliance.

13060 - CCLR s.56(1)(d)A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.
Observation: The manager was unaware of the requirement to have a screen use policy to guide employees in the use of screen time activities.
Corrective action: Corrective action plan required.
18020 - CCLR s.44(1)(b)A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that (b) is appropriate for the age and development of children in each group in the community care facility.
Observation: The video clip shown to children was deemed to be inappropriate for young children.
Corrective action: Corrective action plan required.
