This facility is currently under a Boil Water Notice

Underlying Problems: When I had conducted my inspection on July 25, 2016, the UV unit had visual alarms in two locations. The operator had informed me J.C’.s Waterworks had been out to address this issue, but said nothing was wrong with the system. If the UV unit was functioning properly, we would not be seeing these bacteriology results. The operator was asked to contact the manufacturer to try and troubleshoot the alarms on the unit. They were also asked to request another owner’s manual for the unit if they could not find one onsite. Spoke to operator August 20, 2019. Currently UV system is not hooked up due to defective glass tube and issues with the command module. System to be serviced.
Steps Taken to Remedy: Leo Creek Fisheries camp was put on a boil water notice due to unsatisfactory water sample results (July 28/2016 – TC=20, E.coli=L1). Signage is posted informing users to boil water. Users are provided with bottled water for drinking and other domestic purposes.
Corrective Actions Remaining: To remove the boil water notice, the operator must submit two samples 24 hours apart with satisfactory results and ensure the UV unit is functioning properly. Then and only then will the boil water notice be removed. UV system will be serviced and fixed for July 2020, before operating season. Inspection to be conducted of UV system and discussed need for two satisfactory samples.
