Subject:Licensing received an allegation related to multiple concerns. Licensing conducted an investigation and determined contravention to the following areas:

licensee must operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing observed that the Licensee had not ensured that persons in care remained socially distanced as per the Provincial Health Orders.
Corrective action: Ensure that a community care facility is operated in a manner that promotes the health, safety and dignity of persons in care specifically by maintaining social distancing requirements as indicated in the Provincial Health Orders. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 3, 2020, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan specific to the contravention. The corrective action plan included that the lounges and recreation areas on the units had six foot spaces marked with tape on the floor and signage was posted regarding social distancing. This corrective action plan has been reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan. On July 3, 2020, Licensing toured the facility and observed social distancing signage posted on the units and tape on the floor indicating six feet apart. All persons in care who were seated in the lounge area were socially distanced. No further action required; this contravention has been addressed.

3070 - RCR 82
A licensee must ensure that the care and supervision of a person in care is consistent with the terms and conditions of the person in care's care plan.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the care plan of a person in care was not followed, specifically, a person in care was transferred with a lift that was not indicated in the care plan.
Corrective action: Ensure that the care and supervision of a person in care is consistent with the terms and conditions of the person in care's care plan. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 30, 2020, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. The corrective action plan included an amended care plan indicating that the person can transfer with a sit to stand lift. This corrective action plan has been reviewed and accepted by Licensing. No further action required; this contravention has been addressed.
