Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
101 | Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: Detected free available chlorine (FAC) level of pool water is 0.8ppm, which does not meet requirement of pool regulation (at or above 1.5ppm) [Pool regulation section 10]. RATIONALE: A low FAC residual can increase risk of waterborne pathogens surviving in the pool and can lead to waterborne illness. Operator mentioned that current chlorine feeder has issues and he is already ordering a new feeder. Corrective Action: Ensure that FAC concentration is above1.5ppm at all times. Corrected during the inspection as staff added hypochlorite to circulation system. Final FAC concentration is 2.6ppm. Ensured staff is aware of this requirement. |
101 | Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: Detected pH level of pool water is below 7.0, which does not meet requirement of pool regulation (range 7.2-7.8) [Pool regulation section 10]. RATIONALE: A pH outside of 7.2-7.8 range is associated with weakened chlorine disinfection power and discomfort to eyes and skin. Corrective Action: Ensure that pH level is between 7.2 and 7.8 at all times. Corrected during the inspection as Ensure that pH level is between 7.2 and 7.8 at all times. Corrected during the inspection as staff added hypochlorite to circulation system. Final pH level detected is between 7.2 and 7.4. Ensured staff is aware of this requirement. |
303 | Improper Condition Causing Suction or Entrapment Hazard Observation: Measured flow rate of recirculated water is 46.0 ppm, which is above design flow rate (39.25 gpm), at time of inspection. RATIONALE: A flow rate higher than the design flow rate is associated with higher suction at the main drain and skimmers, which can lead to suction-entrapment hazard. Corrective Action: Please adjust measured flow rate so that it is similar to the design flow rate by March 27, 2017. |
401 | Note Violation Observation: Detected temperature of hot water flowing from the sink tap is 62.5°C. RATIONALE: A hot water temperature above 49°C can lead to scalding. Corrective Action: Please maintain hot water flowing from taps and showers so that temperature is always below 49°C. Correct this by March 27, 2017. Ensure that water temperature flowing from taps and showerheads are regularly monitored and recorded as part of maintenance procedures. |
