| 101 | Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: During the inspection, the hot tub water was tested and found to have a free available chlorine level of 0.25 ppm and cyanuric acid level of 5 ppm. It is important to ensure that outdoor hot tubs and pools maintain a free chlorine level of at least 1.5 ppm and a cyanuric acid level above 30 ppm but not exceeding 80 ppm. Failure to maintain these levels can result in chlorine depletion and the growth and survival of harmful pathogens. Corrective Action: The operator was instructed to close the hot tub and display signage to inform patrons that it is closed. The hot tub will remain closed until the water chemistry is properly balanced and meets the necessary requirements. Additionally, the operator was asked to provide the water chemistry test results of the hot tub once it has been balanced. |

The operator explained that they were not using the skimmers because the pipes needed to be replaced. It is important to note that skimmers play a vital role in maintaining proper water circulation and removing debris from the hot tub, and their non-functionality can result in poor water quality and potential safety/suction hazards. Corrective Action: Hot tub must remain closed until the skimmers are functional. Operator to send pictures once the skimmer valve is opened and are functional. |
