Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
305 | Improper Maintenance of Pool Surface, Walkways, Floors and/or Construction Observation: A few spots of standing water were observed in the change rooms. Standing water has the potential of carrying pathogens that may cause harm to patrons in direct contact. Flooring within the pool area - including the dressing rooms, shower stalls, toilet areas, decks, stairs, and other walking areas should be designed to prevent the accumulation and backflow of water. Corrective Action: The operator immediately instructed a staff member to clean up the identified spots. The standing water was removed by the end of the inspection. |
401 | Note Violation Observation: The natatorium has one drinking water fountain and a large patron capacity of over 250 people. In order to ensure that the drinking water is accessible to patrons, current B.C. Pool Design Guidelines (2021) require that pools have one drinking water fountain per 250 people. Corrective Action: Install additional drinking water fountains or dispenser units as needed to meet the current B.C. Pool Design Guidelines (2021). Prior to construction, the operator must obtain either a pool construction permit or pool construction waiver (see comments). |
