Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101   Repeat Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: Combined chlorine measured using three different test kits. Results ranged from 3.4 ppm to 1.5 ppm combined chlorine. This is above the legslative maximum of 1 ppm required as prolonged exposure to combined chlorine can result in irritation of airways, skin and eyes to swimmers. Alkalinity was also measured initally at approximately 45 ppm and subsequently adjusted to 70 ppm during inspection. Alkalinity should be maintained between 80-120 ppm, or ideally between 120-150 ppm for hot tubs. A low alkalinity level can result in erratic pH levels that can reduce disinfection efficiency or potentially cause a health hazard to pool users.
Corrective Action: Rebalance / shock the whirlpool to reach a desired combined chlorine level of 1 ppm or less and ensure that alkalinity is maintained at 80 - 120 ppm. Operator has stated that the pool will be emptied and rebalanced the following day.
