Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
203   Inadequate or Lack of up-to-date Pool Safety Plan
Observation: The current pool safety plan does not meet the requirements of the BC Pool Regulation. It lacks sufficient information about the operations of the pool, lifesaving equipment, the cleaning and maintenance schedule for the pool, procedures following fecal incidents, how to adjust pool water chemistry, and the procedures following unsatisfactory bacteriological results. The purpose of a pool safety plan is to provide written procedures that can be a resource for staff when ensuring the health and safety of pool users. This comes in use during times such as training, cleaning and maintenance of facility, maintaining pool chemistry, and in the event of an emergency/accident or fecal incident. .
Corrective Action: Update the pool safety plan so that it meets the requirements of the BC Pool Regulation. Section 13 (2) of the BC Pool Regulation states the following must be included in the pool safety plan: (a) procedures to be followed in the event of a serious injury, emergency or incident, (b) the type of lifesaving, lifeguarding and first aid equipment to be kept within the immediate vicinity of the pool, (c) the number of lifeguards and other employees who are to be on duty while the pool is in use in order to ensure adequate supervision of pool patrons, (d) operating procedures for the pool, and (e) the program of cleaning and maintenance of the pool, including the nature and frequency of the cleaning and maintenance. A Guide and Pool Safety Plan for Operators template will be provided via email to assist in updating the pool safety plan. Correct by Tuesday January 30, 2018.
