Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
101 | Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: Free chlorine measured at 1.2 ppm while the temperature of the pool is 32.5 degrees C. Corrective Action: Adjust pool chemistry so that the free chlorine is at least 1.5 ppm when the temperature is greater than 30 degrees C. When the temperature is below 30 degrees C the free chlorine concentration must be at least 0.5 ppm. Correct immediately. Rationale: Free chlorine dissipates faster in warmer temperatures. |
305 | Improper Maintenance of Pool Surface, Walkways, Floors and/or Construction Observation: Flow rate meter for filters not working. Corrective Action: Replace/fix as soon as possible. Rationale: A flow rate meter is the only way to monitor flow rate and determine whether or not it is adequate. Adequate flow rate is important when trying to achieve correct turnover rates. |
305 | Improper Maintenance of Pool Surface, Walkways, Floors and/or Construction Observation: GFI test failed for two underground lights. (Numbers 30 and 36 on the electrical panel). Corrective Action: Have this looked into by an electrian and fix immedietly. GFI to be tested for all underwater lights at least monthly. Note: IF lighting is adequate in pool facility, underwater lights are not mandatory. |
401 | Critical Note Violation Observation: Hot water in washrooms and changerooms exceeded 49 degrees C (measured at 52 degrees C). Corrective Action: Adjust hot water tank/lines so that the temperature in all washrooms does not exceed 49 degrees C. Rationale: Water must not exceed 49 degrees C to prevent scalding while washing hands or bathing. Correct immediately. |
