Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101  Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: Chlorine measured at 0.10ppm. pH measured at <6.5. Alkalinity measured at 22ppm. These three parameters are outside of the allowable range. Chlorine must be maintained at an effective concentration of at least 1.5ppm in a hot tub. pH must be maintained between 7.2 - 7.8. Alkalinity must be maintained between 80 ppm - 120 ppm
Corrective Action: Staff was advised to closed the pool until a pool operator is able to check and rebalance the water chemistry. Provide an email notification to the Environmental Health Officer once the water chemistry is confirmed by the pool operator.
203   Inadequate or Lack of up-to-date Pool Safety Plan
Observation: Staff were unable to locate the written pool safety plan.
Corrective Action: Provide a copy of the latest pool safety plan to the Environmental Health Officer and ensure that staff know where to locate it.
205   Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: All hot tub parameters are being testing at a frequency of only once per day. Combined chlorine is not being measured. BC Pool Regulations require that disinfectants, combined chlorine, and pH level are measured at least twice daily and alkalinity at least once weekly.
Corrective Action: Begin monitoring of combined chlorine. Increase monitoring frequency of disinfectants, combined chlorine, and pH levels to at least twice daily.
205   Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: Test reagents for the taylor kit that was present onsite are expired. Expired reagents can be inaccurate and lead to false results. The operator was not present to confirm whether or not there is another test kit in the facility.
Corrective Action: Discard the expired reagents. Ensure that you are only testing using non-expired reagents.
401   Note Violation
Observation: The Pool Regulation requires that a clock or timer be in viewable distance to the hot tub. At the time of inspection there were no viewable clocks or timers.
Corrective Action: Install a clock or time in viewable distance of the hot tub.
