101 | Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: The total alkalinity was measured to be 40 ppm. Total alkalinity is a buffer to the pH and measures the water's ability to resist change in pH. Alkalinity that is too low will result in pH bounce which means that any chemicals that is added can exponentially affect the pH. Corrective Action: Adjust the total alkalinity to 80-120 ppm as per the BC Pools Regulation. Sodium bicarbonate can be used to raise the alkalinity. |
