101 | Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: During the inspection, the hot tub water was subjected to testing, revealing a free available chlorine 8.58 ppm, a total chlorine level exceeding 10 ppm, and combined chlorine levels exceeding 1.42 ppm. Chlorine levels above 10 ppm and combined chlorine levels above 1 ppm can cause skin and eye irritation, dryness, and itchiness. Additionally, it can lead to respiratory problems when the chlorine is inhaled in the form of vapour or mist. skin issues in pool patrons. Corrective Action: The operator drained the hot tub and refilled it with fresh municipal water. The operator balanced the hot tub water chemistry and retested the parameters to be at regulatory limit. There were no patrons in the hot tub during the inspection. |
