Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
401 | Critical Inadequate concentration of disinfectant Observation: The free available chlorine concentration was measured at ~ 10 ppm. The use of chlorine test paper was employed because the chlorine levels were unreadable using the chlorine test kit. High chlorine levels can be irritating to bather skin and damaging to bathers/swimmers. Corrective Action: It is recommended that free available chlorine levels be brought down to the 3 - 5 ppm range. |
405 | Critical Improper handling/storage of chemicals Observation: The chemical(s) room which houses the disinfection equipment is very warm. The liquid hypochlorite which is being used as disinfectant for the hot tub's not covered. The warm temperatures in the chemical room provide an environment for the quick dissipation of chemical. the chemical should also be stored on shelves in and outside (room temperature) room. Corrective Action: It is also recommended that personal protection equipment be supplied to individuals working with disinfectant as the fumes can be quite corrosive. A respirator and goggles should be supplied. |
421 | Repeat Other (specify below) Observation: The fixture on the hand rails that guide bathers into the hot tub has become loose. Corrective Action: Please correct this problem when the pool is drained to secure hand rail. (fixed on April 27, 2007( |
