Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101  Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: At time of inspection, the free available chlorine in the pool was measured at 0.15 ppm, combined chlorine was measured at 2.16 ppm, pH tested below 6.5 and total alkalinity was below 10 mg/L.
Corrective Action: Close pool immediately. Shock chlorinate the pool to resolve the high levels of combined chlorine. Rebalance and test the pool water to ensure the proper chemical parameters are maintained at all times. - Free available chlorine must be maintained at a minimum of 1 ppm at all times while the pool is in operation. - Combined chlorine must be maintained below 1 ppm at all times while the pool is in operation. - pH must be maintained between 7.2 and 7.8 at all times while the pool is in operation. - Total alkalinity must be maintained between 80 and 120 mg/L at all times while the pool is in operation. Pool cannot be re-opened until the water chemistry is corrected and maintained as per the BC Pool Regulation. Test the pool water twice a day at a minimum. Record and forward the chemistry results to the Environmental Health Officer for review.
104   Improper Turnover of Flow Rate
Observation: Flow meter for the pool was inoperable at time of inspection.
Corrective Action: Repair or replace the flow meter for the pool. A working flow meter is required to monitor the flow rate of the pool. This is to ensure the recirculation system is maintaining the required turnover rate.
203   Inadequate or Lack of up-to-date Pool Safety Plan
Observation: A Pool Safety Plan was not observed on-site at time of inspection. Staff were unaware of location of a Pool Safety Plan.
Corrective Action: Provide a complete and up-to-date Pool Safety Plan. The Pool Safety Plan must remain on-site and all staff must be aware of its location and review the information in the plan.
204   Inadequate Operator Training
Observation: At time of inspection, there were no certified pool staff available on-site. Operator has completed a PoolSafe training course in the past but re-certification is required..
Corrective Action: Staff responsible for maintaining the pool must complete the PoolSafe training course and demonstrate thorough knowledge of pool safety and proper maintenance to the Environmental Health Officer. At least one certified pool staff must be readily available at all times while the pool is in operation.
205   Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: Records indicate that the chemical parameters for the pool are monitored once a day.
Corrective Action: Free available chlorine, total chlorine, combined chlorine and pH must be monitored at least twice a day while the pool is in operation. This is outlined under section 10 of the BC Pool Regulation.
