Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
101 | Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: Alkalinity was determined to be 64 ppm during inspection. This does not meet the regulatory requirement of 80-120 ppm. Operator is aware that this has been an ongoing issue for this pool, and measures and adjusts alkalinity on a daily basis. Public Health Significance - low alkalinity can lead to pH bounce within the pool water. Corrective Action: Ensure that pool staff continue to monitor and adjust alkalinity on a daily basis. |
304 | Improper Cleanliness and/or Hygiene Observation: Grime or rust build-up can be seen along some areas of the pool enclosure surrounding the main pool, especially in some areas of the gutter. Public Health significance - Insufficient cleaning of the pool enclosure can lead to harbourage of algae and disease-causing microbes. Corrective Action: Ensure that the pool enclosure is cleaned on a regular basis so that it is maintained in a sanitary manner. |
306 | Improper Handrails, Ladders, and/or Diving Boards Observation: Multiple handrails around the pool are not fully secure. Public Health significance - Improperly secured railing can result in falling or drowning injuries in bathers. Operator is aware of the issue and is working towards a solution. Corrective Action: Repair or replace hand rails so that they are adequately secured in place, and are strong enough to handle a bather's body weight. |
