Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101   Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: Total alkalinity measured at 233 ppm at time of inspection. The operator's test kit measured it at 158 ppm, however their reagents were expired. High total alkalinity can cause pH lock which makes it difficult to adjust pH levels and can cause scaling which damages equipment.
Corrective Action: Correct and rebalance total alkalinity to be between 80- 120 ppm and test that this is met by using new reagents.
104   Improper Turnover of Flow Rate
Observation: The flow meter indicated a flow rate of 35 GPM during time of inspection.
Corrective Action: The design flow rate for this pool is 45 GPM. The operator adjusted the pool flow rate during time of inspection and corrected it to 45 GPM. Continue to monitor the flow rate and ensure that it is at the design flow rate for proper pool circulation.
203   Inadequate or Lack of up-to-date Pool Safety Plan
Observation: Pool safety plan was not provided during inspection. It was not updated according to the new operator. An extension was requested due to a new operator being hired. This is a repeat violation.
Corrective Action: Complete and update a new pool safety plan and submit it to the Health Authority for review.
204   Inadequate Operator Training
Observation: A new pool operator was hired but has no formal operator training. Permit conditions require the pool to have a trained operator on staff to manage the pool. This is a repeat violation.
Corrective Action: Have a trained pool operator on staff. A staff member must have completed a formal pool operator training course, such as PoolSafe or courses offered by RFABC. Provide evidence of enrolment or certification.
205   Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: Pool test kit reagents are expired, with some being expired since 2015. Operators must test using non-expired reagents for accurate measurements of pool chemistry.
Corrective Action: Purchase new and replace expired reagents. Ensure that reagents are replaced before they are expired.
307   Improper Storage of Chemicals
Observation: Paper bags of sodium hypochlorite were stored on the ground. Ensure all chemicals are stored in a contained manner off the ground to prevent potential leaks and causing potential toxic reactions.
Corrective Action: A stainless steel shelf was ordered and being delivered. The operator placed the bags of chemicals on top of plastic bins to lift them off of the ground during the inspection.
