Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
305 | Improper Maintenance of Pool Surface, Walkways, Floors and/or Construction Observation: Observed some damaged grout and water pooling in areas of the pool deck. Public Health significance - damaged grout prevents adequate cleaning of pool deck, and water pooling is a slipping hazard. Corrective Action: Regrout tiles and adjust slope of deck to prevent water pooling. |
308 | Improper Step and/or Depth Markings Observation: Observed the contrasting colours of the steps leading into the shallow end of the pool are fading. Public Health significance - constrasting colours are important to prevent injury or drowning of pool patrons due to misstepping. Corrective Action: Contrasting colours of the steps need to be repainted or redone. |
401 | Critical Note Violation Observation: Pool operator stated that they do not test the ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for the underwater lighting. Public Health significance - Inadequate testing for safety of GFCI could lead to electrocution of pool patrons if the device fails to prevent an electrical short. Corrective Action: GFCI need to be tested on a regular basis, recommended on a monthly basis. Logs of this test must also be maintained. |
