Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
101 | Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity Observation: Stabilized chlorine tablets were available for disinfecting hot tub water. Stabilized chlorine should only be used for outdoor hot tubs, as it can lead to chlorine lock and inadequate disinfection if used indoors. Corrective Action: Unstabilized chlorine pucks should be used in the erosion feeder. Furthermore, the erosion feeder should only be used while the pool is open to the public, and unstabilized chlorine granules should be otherwise used for adjusting chlorine. |
104 | Improper Turnover of Flow Rate Observation: Flow meter did not appear to be operational at the time of inspection. Corrective Action: Replace or fix flow meter so that the operator can determine if adequate circulation of water is occurring, as well as determine if the skimmers or main drains are suction hazards. |
205 | Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests Observation: Operator is using test strips to monitor pool chemistry. These test strips are inaccurate, and are not sufficient for commercial pool use. Corrective Action: Operator needs to have a pool test kit that can accurately measure Free Available Chlorine, Total Chlorine, Total Alkalinity, and pH. |
305 | Improper Maintenance of Pool Surface, Walkways, Floors and/or Construction Observation: Sand filter was leaking a significant amount of water at time of inspection. Corrective Action: Fix sand filter, as well as maintain all equipment in good repair. |
