Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101  Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: Free Available Chlorine concentration was measured at 0.52 PPM. Total Alkalinity was measured at 66 PPM. pH was measured at 7.8.
Corrective Action: Free available chlorine concentration must be maintained at a concentration of at least 1.5 ppm when water temperature is higher than 30 degree Celsius. Recommended level of Free available chlorine is 3 to 5 ppm for a hot tub. Total alkalinity must be maintained at between 80 ppm to 120 ppm. pH level is reaching the maximum allowable limit of 7.8. Please lower pH to between 7.2 to 7.5 to ensure effective disinfection of pool water. The operator on site has voluntarily closed the hot tub and put up signs and yellow taps around the hot tub parameter. Please manually adjust the water chemistry and contact the Environmental Health Officer before opening the hot tub to the public.
203   Inadequate or Lack of up-to-date Pool Safety Plan
Observation: Pool safety plan template was available on site however details in most sections need to be filled out.
Corrective Action: Please have a complete pool safety plan on site by the corrective date. Pool safety plan is crucial in outlining and understanding the different operational parameters, maintenance and emergency response procedures in a pool environment.
208   Improper Maintenance of Records
Observation: Free available chlorine concentration was obtained from the automatic dispensing and monitoring apparatus in the mechanical room rather than testing of the actual water quality. The ORP value was obtained and doesn't reflect the true value of Free available chlorine concentration. It was found that the ORP setting at the automatic dispensing apparatus was set to 1ppm Free Available Chlorine concentration. Education was provided on site.
Corrective Action: Operator stated that he will contact the maintenance company to conduct a follow up on the ORP settings. Please contact the Environmental Health Officer after the setting is adjusted. Actual monitoring of water quality through water testing is required to monitor the actual pool parameters (ex. pH, Chlorine, Total alkalinity, combined chlorine etc)
305   Improper Maintenance of Pool Surface, Walkways, Floors and/or Construction
Observation: Flow meter of the hot tub was not in working condition
Corrective Action: Fix flow meter to ensure accurate reading of the flow rate
307   Improper Storage of Chemicals
Observation: Muriatic acid was observed to be stored below sodium hypochlorite and basic chemicals.
Corrective Action: Ensure muriatic acid are stored away and on a different shelf of other incompatible chemicals as discussed on site.
