Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101   Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: The water chemistry tests revealed high combined chlorine levels and high pH. Combined chlorine levels were recorded at 1.2 ppm and pH was recorded at 8.4 at the time of inspection. (Public health significance) Combined chlorine in the hot tub water must be maintained at a concentration of less than 1 ppm. The pH should be maintained between 7.2-7.8 at all times.
Corrective Action: Operator to shut the hot tub for maintenance and close for public use until the hot tub water treatment system can maintain satisfactory water chemistry. Operator to investigate chemical feeders and other parts of the hot tub to identify if any repairs or replacements are needed. The operator to drain, clean and scrub the pool before refilling, then adjust and monitor water chemistry.
205   Repeat Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: The pool chemistry records have not been updated for the past few months.
Corrective Action: The operator must ensure that an up-to-date record is kept for the pool chemistry test results and is available for review by health officer during an inspection.
304   Improper Cleanliness and/or Hygiene
Observation: A thick biofilm was observed on the inside of the skimmer. (Public health significance) The biofilm growth could largely affect the microbiological quality of the hot tub which could further present a risk to the health of pool patrons.
Corrective Action: Operator cleaned and scrubbed the skimmer immediately and was told to implement cleaning schedule which includes frequent cleaning of the hot tub equipment and parts to ensure pool water is free of visible dirt and algae growth.
