A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
101  Critical Improper Water Chemistry/Water Clarity
Observation: pH is higher than the required range of 7.2-7.8. High pH may cause eye irritation, cloudy water, scale formation, short filter runs, and decreased effectiveness of chlorine.
Corrective Action: Close the pool. Rebalance the water chemistry. Do not reopen the pool until the Environmental Health Officer has confirmed that the pH is addressed.
104   Improper Turnover of Flow Rate
Observation: Flow meter is broken. Flow meters are required to accurately determine the flow rate of the pool water.
Corrective Action: Repair or install a new flow meter.
203   Inadequate or Lack of up-to-date Pool Safety Plan
Observation: No pool safety plan available at time of inspection.
Corrective Action: Have an up-to-date pool safety plan available in a location that is accessible to staff.
205   Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: Testing reagents were expired. Using expired reagents for chemical testing can result in inaccurate measurements.
Corrective Action: Dispose of the expired reagents and replace them with non-expired reagents.
205  Critical Improper Monitoring of Chemical Paramaters or Safety Tests
Observation: Pool chemistry tests are conducted at an inappropriate frequency.
Corrective Action: Pool chemistry testing for free available chlorine, combined chlorine, and pH must be conducted at least twice daily. Testing for alkalinity is required at least once weekly.
208   Improper Maintenance of Records
Observation: In the pool operator's absence, staff were unable to locate the maintainance records of the pool.
Corrective Action: Pool operator will need to locate the records during the follow up inspection.
