     Underlying Problems: - A bacteriological water sample came back with the presence of total coliform and E. coli bacteria. A Boil Water Notice was issued for the system but has been downgraded to a Water Quality Advisory as of January 12, 2021. - The presence of several onsite sewerage disposal systems within the vicinity of the well and reservoir.
     Steps Taken to Remedy: · Residents are notified of updates or changes to any notices by posting to the Estates Facebook page and website, and by phone calls to vulnerable persons. · The operator has been instructed to provide written notice to all residents. The operator agreed to do this. - Increased monitoring requirements have been added as conditions of operation. These include weekly bacteriological testing and quarterly testing for nitrates, nitrites and turbidity. All which are used as indicators of potential human sewerage related impacts to the source water supply. After review of present and past results there have been no significant increases in these parameter levels.
     Corrective Actions Remaining: · An investigation into the cause of the contamination has been conducted and a plan is in place for assessment and future system improvements. Timelines have been set and conditions of permitting have been agreed upon between the operator and the Environmental Health Officer · Two consecutive sets of water samples taken at least 24 hours apart showing the absence of total coliforms and E. coli bacteria assessment of the well and distribution system have been provided. · Although two samples showing absence of bacteria have been received there are still known areas of potential contamination within the recommended separations an increased monitoring plan has been established that includes weekly bacteriological testing and quarterly testing of nitrates, nitrites and turbidity. These parameters will be monitored over time to assess any increases in levels. It is the operator's responsibility to bring any issues of concern to the attention of the responsible Environmental Health Officer at that time.
