Underlying Problems: May/June 2018 – Well reported to be dry and the likely cause was noted as “reduced artesian flow” by a professional well driller. Due to remote location and lack of drinking water transportation services, operators have not been able to submit bacteriological water sampling for testing. Options of Yukon Labs in Whitehorse and NorLabs in Prince Rupert were provided. June 2019 – Additional issues with well yield requiring repairs to the source/system.
Steps Taken to Remedy: Operator contacted EHO Peiris. Emergency works conducted on water system: June 27th 2018 – Well driller pumped/siphoned the water in the well to improve the flow. July 3rd 2018 – BWN signage posted at the camp fill station. Website updated to inform the public of BWN status. June 7th 2019 – system having issues with water yield and access. Operator will be submitting a CP for the installation of a hand pump and other works. BWN signage on-site and website remain
Corrective Actions Remaining: Flush water system. Submit two bacteriological water samples at least 24 hours apart to confirm satisfactory water results.
