Current Hazard Rating:   Low

This facility is currently under a Do Not Consume

Underlying Problems: Unsatisfactory water result received (65.9 total coliforms, 0 E. coli). Cause of unsatisfactory bacteriological water result is currently unknown. Inspection report from 2018 identified levels of arsenic in the water (0.015 mg/L) that exceed the Maximum Acceptable Concentration (MAC) (0.010 mg/L). Currently there is no treatment installed to remove arsenic or bacteria from the water.
Steps Taken to Remedy: Do Not Consume Notice issued for this water system. Operator instructed to notify all users that a Do Not Consume Notice is in effect. Resources on how to do this provided to the operator.
Corrective Actions Remaining: Submit re-samples from multiple locations throughout the distribution system (Campsite, Cabin and Kitchen sampling sites). Two sets of satisfactory water results (0 total coliforms, 0 E. coli), collected at least 24 hours apart, must be received. Submit a sample for chemical testing to determine what the current level of arsenic is in the water. If arsenic still exceeds the MAC, operator will need to hire a treatment specialist to assess the water system and propose a treatment method to reduce levels of arsenic to meet the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.
