 Underlying Problems: - This Boil Water Notice is specifically for the residence at 13364 Dunlop St and its water users.
- The previous approved UV treatment system at 13364 Dunlop St. was no longer working properly. The operator has replaced the old unit with a new UV treatment system (Hallett Potable UV 500 PN). According to the operator, this new UV system treats the water at 75% UVT and the system is measuring the UVT of the water between 64% and 84%. As a result, there is a concern that the water is not being adequately treated. | |
| Steps Taken to Remedy: - Chemical sample submitted to Norlabs to test the following parameters: colour, TDS, TOC, turbidity, UVT, tannins & lignins. Sample submitted November 19, 2019.
- Residence currently operating under a Boil Water Notice (boiling water for drinking and food preparation) | |
| Corrective Actions Remaining: - Based on the chemical results, operator to address the issue affecting the UVT of the source water (e.g. additional filters and/or treatment) to ensure source water quality is acceptable for the UV system to sufficiently treat the water
- Operator to forward manufacturer specifications and additional information on the new UV treatment system to the Environmental Health Officer for review.
- Post treatment chemical sampling must also be conducted to ensure the UV treatment system is working effectively. |
