Observation: Sources of contamination were observed in the proximity of the well casing.
Corrective Action: Use/storage of hazardous materials on and around the well site are potential sources of well contamination; Pentachlorophenol preserved wood, old paint cans, waste oil, cement and waste items.
317   Inadequate or improper construction of water works
Observation: Grade is not mounded up to the well casing.
Corrective Action: It is important to slope impermeable soil (clay-type soil) up to the Spring so as to prevent contaminated surface waters from reaching the Spring area and infiltrating the Spring catchment. This is a special concern during spring snowmelt or heavy rain.
318   Inadequate Microbiological Analysis data
Observation: Regular bacteriological water sample test results are not being submitted as required.
Corrective Action: Bacteriological water sample tests are required according to the Conditions of the Operating Permit.
