Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
311  Critical Other (specify below)
Observation: Due to two consecutive sets of unsatisfactory water sample results (2016-05-25, Site 15 TC=2 and 2016-06-07, Site 15 TC = 1 and Kitchen TC =1), the water system has been put on a boil water notice. 2016-05-25 results were thought to be sampling error, but even though the counts for 2015-06-07 were low, sampling error cannot be assumed due to the consecutive unsatisfactory results. In order to be considered safe for users to drink, water must be microbiologically safe and be free of indicator organisms, such as total coliforms.
Corrective Action: On 2016-06-10, the operator was verbally informed of the results and requested to issue a boil water notice. The operator was asked to post signage at all taps indicating that there is a boil water notice, notify current guests, and inform all new guests on arrival. Also, the operator was instructed to shock chlorinate and flush the water system. The boil water notice must not be lifted until given authorization by the EHO. The boil water notice will only be lifted after 2 sets of consecutive samples taken 24 hours apart come back with satisfactory results and it is proven that the treatment system is operating as designed.
312   Interruption of treatment
Observation: UV was in alarm stating "UV lamps require replacement." Speaking with the operator, it was determined the UV bulbs had not been changed in the past two years. The incoming water is most likely not receiving a dose of UV required to provide potable water.
Corrective Action: The operator was instructed to look through the manual for the UV unit to confirm the alarm and any other issues causing the UV to alarm. Also, the operator was to call BK Woods and Water in Prince George to order new bulbs. Bulbs must be changed once a year at the start of the season. Also, the water treatment works need to be inspected by the operator each day to check that everything is functioning as designed. If the UV unit is in alarm, the cause of the alarm needs to be determined and the EHO or MHO (after hours 250-565-2000) must be contacted.
320   Other (specify below)
Observation: Water treatment is currently being shut off from 10:30pm to 7:30am each day. Therefore, during this time period, guests are not receiving potable and water is no longer going through the treatment works, resulting in untreated water throughout the distribution lines until treatment start up in the morning.
Corrective Action: During the operational season, the water treatment works must always be supplied with power in order to ensure potable water is always available for guests. Immediately start supplying power to treatment works 24 hours a day. A smaller generator for the purposes of water treatment may be a more affordable means to supply power as it is understood the resort is off grid.
