A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
313  Critical Inadequate treatment
Observation: Raw lake water is being pumped into distribution system, as filtration system and chlorination was not in use at time of inspection. Operator has plans and money available for new treatment plant, but is in the process of obtaining land easement so that space needed to construct is available. Public Health significance - insufficient treatment of surface water can lead to waterborne illnesses and outbreaks within the community.
Corrective Action: Submit construction permit application to Northern Health's Public Health Engineer for review before construction of treatment plant begins. New treatment plant must meet Northern Health's requirements for treatment of surface water.
319   Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data
Observation: Chemical analysis of raw lake supply has not been provided to Northern Health in approximately 20 years. Public Health significance - insufficient frequency of chemical sampling can lead to exposure of water users to dangerous levels of chemicals.
Corrective Action: Have raw lake water analyzed by an accredited laboratory at least once every 5 years, and provide results to Northern Health.
320   Other (specify below)
Observation: Operator at time of inspection did not have required EOCP small waters system (SWS) certificate. Public Health significance - insufficent training of operator can lead to breakdown of treatment or distribution system.
Corrective Action: Complete EOCP SWS course and provide copy of certificate to Northern Health.
