Corrective Action: A fly-tight well cover is essential to ensure that groundwater is not contaminated by entry of insects or small rodents. Suggest using fly-screen or foam tape to improve the seal. |

Corrective Action: It is important to slope impermeable soil (clay-type soil) up to the casing so as to prevent contaminated surface waters from reaching the casing and flowing down the outside of the casing and entering the well.
