Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
313   Inadequate treatment
Observation: b) Water from this source is considered to be surface water.
Corrective Action: Disinfection is required on all surface water supplies, by Section 5(2) of the Drinking Water Protection Regulations. Disinfection is required prior to seasonal start-up. Approval of disinfection treatment equipment is required from the Public Health Engineer prior to installation.
316   Source unprotected and subject to contamination
Observation: The lid on the well does not appear to be fly-tight.
Corrective Action: A fly-tight well cover is essential to ensure that groundwater is not contaminated by entry of insects or small rodents. Suggest using fly-screen or foam tape to improve the seal.
317   Inadequate or improper construction of water works
Observation: Grade is not mounded up to well casing.
Corrective Action: It is important to slope impermeable soil (clay-type soil) up to the casing so as to prevent contaminated surface waters from reaching the casing and flowing down the outside of the casing and entering the well. This is a special concern during spring snowmelt, heavy rain, or during a flood threat.
