Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description / Observation / Corrective Action
306  Critical Chemical contamination of raw water
Observation: Water chemistry data has shown that the source water has elevated levels of arsenic that exceed the maximum acceptable concentration in Health Canada’s guidelines. (The arsenic concentration from the last chemistry analysis was 15.7 micrograms per litre).
Corrective Action: A “Do Not Consume” notice will need to be issued to the residence that is supplied by this water system. Water users living in the residence will need to be provided with bottled water for consumption. Treatment to remove the arsenic needs to be installed. The environmental health officer will provide the operator with information on removing arsenic from drinking water.
308  Critical Contamination of finished water - Mains
Observation: From January 2007 (when routine bacteriological sampling first began), until the time of writing, total coliform bacteria have been detected in 19% of water samples.
Corrective Action: A boil water notice has been issued to alert water users at the church. Treatment to remove the bacteria at the church and the residence needs to be installed, or the source of the coliform bacteria needs to be eliminated. The operator intends to install a sampling tap in the well house to help identify if the total coliform bacteria are present in the well water.
