Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
309 | Critical Cross connection Observation: Pipe found in kitchen where the lake source intersects with the well source. The lake valve was shut during the time of inspection, however this cross connection can still be a risk for introducing contaminants to a potable drinking water source. Corrective Action: Reinstall treatment for the lake source or redo the plumbing so that no cross connections exist where pipes from the well intersect from pipes from the lake. This applies to the whole camp. If other cross connections besides the kitchen exist - they must be removed. |
313 | Inadequate treatment Observation: Chlorination and UV unit was not operating during the time of inspection. The units have been down for a long time since the new operators have been at the camp. Corrective Action: Reinstall treatment for the system or disconnect it from any potable drinking water source at the camp site. Signage must be posted on sites where the water is used for washrooms. |
320 | Other (specify below) Observation: Operator does not have water systems training. Corrective Action: Operator to enroll and complete TRU watersafe or an equivalent training course. |
