Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
Code | Description / Observation / Corrective Action |
313 | Inadequate treatment Observation: - Disinfection of shallow well (surface water source) currently includes chlorination only. Chlorination is not effective against protozoa such as Giardia or cryptosporidium spp. Current disinfection does not meet provincial 4-3-2-1-0 Guidelines (attached). Corrective Action: Please make plans towards installing adequate treatment to meet provincial 4-3-2-1-0 Guidelines. A construction permit must be obtained before installation can proceed. A water user must be advised that water must be boiled or further treated to ensure potability. The Dungate water users community may consider a centralized form of treatment or a decentralized (Point of Use or Point of Entry) style of treatment. Please call me to discuss further. |
318 | Inadequate Microbiological Analysis data Observation: Water samples for bacteriological analysis have not been submitted/reported at the frequency required. A minimum of one sample per month must be submitted. One sample has been submitted in 2014 to date. Corrective Action: Ensure at least one sample is submitted each month. |
319 | Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data Observation: It has been more than 5 years since the last water chemistry results have been received. Testing and reporting of water chemistry must be completed at least once every 5 years according to your permit. Corrective Action: Please arrange to have your water tested for chemical parameters. Forward results to the undersigned. Please contact me if you have any questions. |
