Violations:
A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

Code   Description
317  Critical Inadequate or improper construction of water works
Observation: Well casing is located in a well pit. Well casing was extended, however the well pit was not filled. There is a pipe located near the bottom of the well pit suggesting that this area periodically becomes flooded with surface water.
Corrective Action: The area where the well is located is subject to storm water run-off during heavy rainfalls and spring melt, which could carry contaminated surface water towards the well and collect in the well pit. Contaminated surface water could potentially enter the well by flowing down the outside of the casing. The well pit is to be filled in and the well is to be sealed with a surface seal (as outlined in the BC Groundwater Protection Regulation). The soil at grade is to be sloped up to the well casing to prevent the ponding of water around the wellhead.
318   Inadequate Microbiological Analysis data
Observation: There is no record of bacteriological sample results in the last year for this water system.
Corrective Action: As per Operating Permit Condition, bacteriological sampling is required at least quarterly. Ensure that this sampling frequency is met. Sample collected on October 24 by Jeff Kresowaty (EHO). Next sample is due in January 2007.
