(Public Health Significance) Rodents and other pests may cross contaminate foods and surfaces or contaminate human food with feces and urine, carry parasites and other diseases. Corrective Action: Remove any pest attractants such as food and water, eliminate access to the building and routes they use inside. Trap and remove the pests. Contact a professional pest control operator. Clean and sanitize area where droppings are located and monitor situation. Sanitize all food preparation equipment and surfaces before and after use. |
305 | Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)] Observation: Staff have been sealing holes and cracks with steelwool and caulking foam. Some additional potential access points were identified during the inspection such as a gap in the church entrance door, a gap below the access doors that separate the preschool and church, and various gaps in ceiling tiles. Corrective Action: Continue to eliminate pest entry points on the exterior of the building and access routes inside the building. Ensure that the kitchen and eating area are cleaned and sanitized as per the sanitation plan to remove access to food and water. |
