209 Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: Laundry detergent containers used to store food (i.e. sugar and meat products). Chemical contamination can occur during storage when food is stored in non-food grade containers.
Corrective Action: Ensure food products are only stored in food grade containers.
302Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation: Wiping cloths left on the counters between use. Cloths once used can harbour and grow bacteria if used and left at room temperature.
Corrective Action: Store wiping cloths in a sanitizing solution of 200 ppm chlorine (add 1 tsp of unscented household bleach to 1 L of water) or 200 ppm QUATs (mix according to the manufacturer's specifications.).
305 Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: Door seal of side kitchen door to the outside was worn down. This opening may allow unwanted entry of pests into the food establishment.
Corrective Action: Ensure door seal is replaced.
