304 Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Evidence of mice; droppings were noted in the facility. (Public Health Significance) Rodents and other pests may cross contaminate foods and surfaces or contaminate human food with feces and urine, carry parasites and other diseases.
Corrective Action: Clean and sanitize areas where droppings are located and send a photo of the cleaned area to the Environmental Health Officer. Continue to monitor these locations for any new droppings (new droppings indicate an active pest situation). Remove any pest attractants such as food and water, eliminate access to the building and routes they use inside. Trap and remove any pest. Consider the use of a professional pest control operator if an active infestation is found.
401Critical Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation: Bar area did not have any hand soap or paper towel present. Hot and cold running water, hand soap, paper towel must be present to allow for proper hand washing. (Public Health Significance) Hand washing is an important practice to ensure food are protected from cross contamination from other previously handled foods or contact surfaces.
Corrective Action: Provide soap and paper towel in dispensers to the bar area to facilitate proper hand washing. Ensure that one of the sink compartments designated as the hand washing sink and is accessible at all times to be used for hand washing.
