CCLR Section 10(1)Licensing: Applicants for licences and licensees must notify a medical health officer immediately of any change in the information provided under section 9 [applying for a licence].
Observation: Medical Health Officer not notified of changes.
Corrective action: The licensee to submit a compliance plan by indicated date.
CCLR Section 16(3)(a)Physical Facility, Equipment and Furnishings: A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.
Observation: Outdoor play area not enclosed.
Corrective action: The licensee to submit a compliance plan by indicated date.
CCLR Section 56(1)(f)Records and Reporting: A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
Observation: Insufficient records.
Corrective action: The licensee to submit a compliance plan by indicated date.
CCLR Section 57(2)(c)Records and Reporting: A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Corrective action: The licensee to submit a compliance plan by indicated date.

Summary Findings/Conclusions
Conclusion:Some allegations substantiated
Report of Findings:Investigation included:
- On site visit conducted June 2, 2022
- Assessment of the physical space, review of facility
documentation and an interview with the licensee took place.

Findings:

As a result of the investigation into the complaint, the
following areas of non-compliance were identified:

CCLR Section 10(1)- Continuing duty to inform
CCLR Section 16(3)(a)- Play area, materials and equipment
CCLR Section 56(1)(f)- Community care facility records and policies
CCLR Section 57(2)(c) - Records for each child

Conclusion:

The licensee is to submit a written compliance plan outlining how
the above areas of non-compliance will be addressed. An on site
follow up inspection to be conducted, prior to re-opening, to verify
the facility's compliance.

A routine inspection to be conducted within two months of the date
on which the facility re-opens.

At this time the Licensing Officer recommends that no action
be taken against the license for Exploring the North.
