Introduction

Follow-up Inspection Introduction
A scheduled follow-up inspection to the Routine Inspection #JKIM-CR7RV6 was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager:
The temperature in the main play area is not suitable for the children to play and sleep comfortably. Although the facility has a portable AC unit, it does not cool down the room enough to provide sufficient coverage.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all time while children are in care.

Summary of Inspection
On the inspection date of July 7, 2023 there were 3 children and the Manager present. At this inspection the contraventions identified during the routine inspection #JKIM-CR7RV6 were confirmed to have been corrected; however an additional contravention was identified and discussed today with the Manager.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
- Licensing: Manager's information
- Emergency supplies: sufficient supplies for 72 hours; these items to be readily accessible, to be located close to the exit door
