Observation: 9 containers of potato salad were put on hold as written procedures were not fully provided and approved to the district health inspector where the potato salad is processed.
Corrective Action(s): Obtain approval from the district health inspector by submitting an approved food safety plan.

Observation: Hallway area behind where packaged goods contain a small number of rodent droppings.
Corrective Action(s): Spray down rodent droppings with a 1:10 dilution of bleach, wait for 20 minutes, then wipe with a paper towel and discard in a secure garbage bag.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted. The following observations were made:

- Facility generally in good sanitary condition and well-lit
- Handwash station adequately stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use paper towels in front kitchen area and restroom. Restrooms are well maintained
- Display freezer at -18C, display coolers at 4C, and walk-in cooler at 4C
- Two-compartment sink with overhead drying rack present for manual warewashing
- Sanitizing pail currently used at the moment as spray bottle was recently broken, currently at 200 ppm chlorine residual
- Meat slicer was in use at time of inspection, ensure that it is cleaned-in-place every 4 hours
- All processed meat items and deli are packaged and stored off the floor, currently approved for distribution from the Vancouver processing facility on E Hastings
- Professional pest control company conducts monthly audits, mechanical traps in place did not contain any rodents / pests at time of inspection
- Owner on-site has FoodSafe 1

Administrative:
- Demand letter for permit fees in the amount of $150.00 delivered to owner. Owner will contact number on letter - ensure that you pay within 10 business days
- Permit posted

Note: No jarred products were present at time of inspection. Written procedures or approval have not been provided to the store on 108th for the distribution of Bigos, tripe, and other jarred goods.
