At the inspection dated Jan. 21, 2022 there were 24 children and 5 staff present. At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee includes a written response. The contravention noted in this report was reviewed with the facility during the inspection.
A COVID-19 Risk Screening was also completed on-site.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The following education/recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Reportable Incident procedures
- Cleaning and storing of beddings
- Continue to document minor incidents using the incident log bound book, and take note of any illness and unexpected events involving children not requiring medical attention, and that are not reportable incidents as described in Schedule H and staff to initial after each documentation
- Continue to follow COVID-19 policy
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility including toys and equipment
- Hand hygiene procedures
- Continue to have indoor ventilation
- Check the BCCDC website for updates
- Remove all items with a DIN # in the first aid kit, as parent’s permission is required before using these items on children. Mild soap and water can be used to clean any minor cuts or scrapes.
- Continue daily required outdoor play periods
